**The Royal Twist: Prince Louis and Queen’s Unprecedented Intervention**
The nation has been captivated by the mischievous young prince, destined to become a significant figure in the royal family.
Prince Louis Arthur Charles, at just five years old, has charmed the hearts of the nation with his playful personality and carries a remarkable title.
His name was unveiled on April 27, 2018, four days after his birth, and it holds a deeper significance – a change initiated by the late Queen Elizabeth herself.
In a touching tribute to King Charles' mentor, Lord Louis Mountbatten, Prince Louis bears one of his father's middle names.
Lord Louis Mountbatten, a British statesman and naval commander, tragically lost his life in an IRA bombing in 1979.
Interestingly, Prince George, Prince William's eldest child, also shares both of his middle names with Lord Louis.
Prince Louis's full title is now officially His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge, a title made possible by his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
To ensure that Louis received his rightful title, a provision put in place by King George V needed to be overturned.
The provision, established in 1917, outlined strict guidelines on who could hold royal titles, excluding those too far down the line of succession.
According to The Mirror, King George V's decree dictated that all the sovereign's children and grandchildren born through the male line would automatically be princes or princesses.
However, great-grandchildren were omitted from this list.
This exclusion likely stemmed from Queen Elizabeth II's long reign, which surpassed that of other monarchs of her time.
Given that Prince Louis and his siblings were born as great-grandchildren of a king, they were initially not entitled to royal titles under the existing regulations.
But Queen Elizabeth II intervened, ensuring that Prince George received his title and extending the same privilege to all of Prince William and Kate's children.
This change did not impact other members of the royal family at the time.
Notably, Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, Prince Harry, and other royal grandchildren were not covered by the same rule for their future children.
However, with King Charles ascending to the throne, Harry's children, Archie and Lilibet, along with all the monarch's grandchildren, can now proudly bear the titles of His or Her Royal Highness, prince, or princess.
The Queen's unprecedented intervention has not only secured a prestigious title for Prince Louis but has also paved the way for a new generation of royals to embrace their royal heritage.
