The Countess of Wessex made a poignant fashion statement at the funeral of her late mother-in-law, II.

Stepping into Westminster Abbey for the solemn service, the mother-of-two donned an exquisite Susanna London black coat dress adorned with a distinctive embroidered floral motif scattered throughout.

Complementing her attire was a bespoke riding hat intricately designed with myrtle and orchid accents by Jane Taylor London.

Revealing the significance behind the ensemble, the brand disclosed that the attire was exclusively crafted for the royal, with the lily of the valley embellishment paying homage to the monarch, as it mirrored the flowers featured in her wedding bouquet.

Sharing a glimpse behind the scenes on Instagram, a series of images showcased skilled seamstresses meticulously working on the garment.

The caption expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play a role in modern history, acknowledging the dedicated team and Jenneking Embroidery for their contributions in creating the stunning coat dress for Her Royal Highness, the Countess of Wessex.

The design incorporated numerous panels of luxurious Italian wool and silk satin, each intricately embroidered with lily of the valley, which happened to be Her Majesty's favorite flowers, intertwined with blooms from her bridal bouquet.

Accompanied by her husband, , the Queen's youngest son, and their children James Viscount VII and Lady Louise Windsor, Countess Sophie exuded grace and elegance at the somber occasion.

Lady Louise looked radiant in a black flutter-sleeve frock by the theory, perfectly complementing her mother's attire.
