Support for Ukraine: Prince William and Kate Middleton Stand with President Zelensky

In a powerful show of solidarity, and have publicly expressed their support for Ukraine and its President, Volodymyr Zelensky.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took to Twitter on Saturday, sending a heartfelt message amidst the ongoing conflict instigated by Russia.

Their words resonate deeply, especially given the current turmoil in Ukraine.

Reflecting on their past encounter, the royal couple recalled their meeting with President Zelensky and First Lady Alina Zelenska in October 2020.

During that visit, they were inspired by the couple's vision of hope and optimism for Ukraine's future.

In their tweet, they affirmed their stance: “Today we stand with the President and all of Ukraine's people as they bravely fight for that future.” It's a sentiment that captures the essence of unity during these challenging times.

Just hours before the royals' message, President Zelensky shared a poignant video from the streets of Kyiv, showcasing his determination to remain with his people despite the escalating violence.

The footage revealed him walking through the city after a night filled with artillery fire, reassuring Ukrainians with a simple yet powerful declaration: “I'm here.”

In his address, Zelensky emphasized the resolve of his nation to defend itself against the aggressors.

He also addressed the rampant misinformation circulating online, urging citizens not to believe false claims suggesting he had called for an evacuation or urged the military to surrender.

“We won't lay down our arms.

We will defend our country.

Glory to Ukraine,” he asserted, rallying his fellow citizens in the face of adversity.

As Russian forces continued to advance towards central Kyiv, Zelensky made a bold decision.

Despite being offered evacuation by the United States, he declined, stating, “The fight is here, I need ammunition, not a ride.” This statement, relayed by an Associated Press source, underscores his commitment to lead from the front during this critical moment.

The backdrop of this unfolding drama is grim.
