Suits Cast Reunites for Super Bowl Ad, Sparking Comeback Rumors
The excitement is palpable as the beloved cast of “Suits” reunites for a fresh promotion that will air during the Super Bowl on February 11.
This special advertisement for Elf Cosmetics features fan favorites Gina Torres, Rick Hoffman, and Sarah Rafferty, who are set to star together in a new campaign.
The makeup brand teased fans with a sneak peek of the ad just this past Tuesday, igniting a whirlwind of speculation about the potential return of the iconic USA legal drama.
Since September, rumors have been swirling online about a possible comeback for “Suits,” and this latest teaser has only fueled those discussions.
However, it's worth noting that Meghan Markle, who played a significant role in the show, is noticeably absent from the ad.
The promotional clip showcases Elf delivering summons to some of television's most binge-worthy characters, including the three “Suits” stars, along with Ronald Gladden from “Jury Duty,” musician Meghan Trainor, RuPaul's Drag Race star Heidi Closet, and former footballer Emanuel Otto.
The ad kicks off with comedian Benito Skinner portraying an elf intern named Cooper, who makes a call to Meghan, informing her that she has been summoned.
The scene then shifts to the other stars engaged in various activities before they are all interrupted by the delivery of a pink slip, demanding their court appearance.
The teaser wraps up with a tantalizing message: “See you in court, February 11.”
In a recent chat with People, Rick Hoffman expressed his joy at reuniting with his former co-stars, describing the experience as “peak happiness.”
Sarah echoed his sentiments, likening it to a warm welcome home.
Although Patrick J. Adams was unable to join them due to filming commitments in South Africa, the absence of Meghan from the commercial raises eyebrows.
Given her pivotal role in promoting “Suits,” her exclusion feels particularly glaring.
Last summer, the show experienced a remarkable resurgence in popularity, becoming the most streamed series in the U.S. for an impressive 12 consecutive weeks after landing on Netflix.
Gina Torres reflected on this unexpected spotlight, calling it both “odd and wonderful.”
She remarked, “Alright, they're still here, they did incredible work,” emphasizing the show's lasting impact despite being previously viewed as just another cable program.
In September, Patrick Adams sparked fresh speculation about a potential revival when he began sharing a series of never-before-seen behind-the-scenes photos from the show's production.
His posts included several intimate shots of Meghan, which he captioned with a nostalgic “I miss my friends.”
One striking image featured Meghan in a black-and-white portrait, while another captured her playfully lounging with a co-star.
Adams continued to share more nostalgic content, hinting at a deeper connection to the show.
He described his collection of memories as a “deep well,” showcasing Meghan in various candid moments, including one where she appeared engrossed in a script.
However, these posts were later deleted, as Patrick acknowledged they might have distracted from the ongoing actors' strike.
While the reunion ad has certainly reignited interest in “Suits,” the absence of Meghan Markle raises questions.
Many fans believe her involvement was crucial to the show's resurgence on Netflix, as she frequently promoted it during her time in the spotlight.
