Royal Revelation: Prince Louis’ First Word Inspired by Baking
Kate Middleton revealed that Prince Louis' first word, “Mary,” was inspired by a renowned baker during a festive TV special in 2019.
The Duchess of Cambridge, alongside Mary Berry on BBC One's A Berry Royal Christmas, shared this delightful tidbit about her youngest son.
While typical first words for toddlers are often “mama” or “dada,” Prince Louis surprised everyone with a culinary term.
During the program, Kate explained how Prince Louis associated the name “Mary” with the face he saw on cooking books at his eye level.
“One of Louis' first words was his version of Mary because right at his height are all our cooking books,” Kate shared with Mary Berry.
The princess expressed how children are naturally drawn to faces, and Mary Berry's images on her cookbooks captivated Prince Louis, making “Mary” one of his initial words.
At the time of the Christmas special, Prince Louis, born on April 23, 2018, would have been around one-and-a-half years old.
Kate further disclosed that her youngest child had developed a liking for more sophisticated dishes.
She mentioned enjoying cooking with her children, particularly using Mary Berry's pizza dough recipe, and shared that their family grows vegetables, including carrots, beans, and beets.
Notably, beetroot is a particular favorite of Prince Louis.
Former royal chef Darren McGrady even shared his beetroot salad recipe with fans of the vegetable.
Despite being exposed to a variety of cuisines, Prince Louis seems to have a preference for non-royal treats.
When he indulged in a delightful s'more, a marshmallow between two biscuits, at a scout hut, royal enthusiasts were thrilled.
Prince William's joy was evident as he exclaimed, “Oh, my goodness, you've made his day,” while savoring the sweet dessert.
The royal family's culinary adventures do not stop with Prince Louis.
Kate Middleton mentioned Princess Charlotte's discerning palate and a celebrity chef commented on Prince George's preferred meal.
The revelation of Prince Louis' baking-inspired first word adds a charming touch to the royal family's everyday life, showcasing their love for good food and shared moments in the kitchen.
