Royal Reunion in the Works: Meghan Markle’s Plan for UK Move with One Condition
Meghan Markle is reportedly exploring the possibility of dividing her time between California and Kensington Palace, signaling a potential reunion with the royal family.
Sources suggest that King Charles may be open to the idea, but with a crucial condition attached.
The Duchess of Sussex is contemplating a return to the fold after she and Prince Harry distanced themselves from royal duties in 2020, leading to strained relations with the monarchy.
Considering financial challenges faced by the couple, Meghan is contemplating spending a significant portion of the year in California, where the Sussexes currently reside in Montecito.
The rest of the time would be spent renting an apartment at Kensington Palace.
This arrangement is seen as a way to not only strengthen her bond with Prince Harry but also to mend fences with King Charles, who desires a family reconciliation.
However, sources reveal that King Charles has set a non-negotiable condition for this plan to materialize – Meghan and Harry must refrain from making negative comments about the royal family in the media.
An insider shared with Life and Style magazine that it is imperative for the couple to agree to this stipulation to avoid facing expulsion from the family once again.
Recent developments, including a birthday phone call between Harry, Meghan, and the King, indicated a thaw in relations between the feuding parties, with the possibility of an invitation to Sandringham for Christmas not being ruled out.
Yet, the release of Omid Scobie's controversial book “Endgame” has likely reignited tensions within the family.
Royal expert Duncan Larkham acknowledged the current rift but pointed out that there is always a path back for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Larkham cited the example of Camilla, who went from being widely disliked to becoming Queen, emphasizing that reconciliation is not impossible.
However, he noted that the prospect of immediate reconciliation seems unlikely given the current circumstances.
Meanwhile, Meghan has been actively involved in launching her latest initiative through the Archule Foundation, following the publication of the organization's 2022 tax filings.
The Welcome Project, initiated by the Duchess, aims to support women-led programs for recently resettled Afghan women, fostering inclusive and connected communities.
With 11 initiatives already operational across various states in the US, the project offers activities such as sewing, cooking, hiking, photography, and swimming to promote a sense of belonging among participants.
