Royal Pancakes: Sarah Ferguson’s Brave Revelation of a Hidden Struggle

Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, bared her soul in a poignant confession during her debut appearance on Loose Women.

The 64-year-old royal bravely shared details of her tumultuous past, unveiling a long-kept secret battle with an eating disorder.

Reflecting on her younger years, Sarah disclosed that despite grappling with this hidden affliction, she still perceived herself as beautiful and slender when reminiscing about photos from the 1980s.

During her candid interview on Loose Women, Sarah Ferguson reminisced, “Recently I’ve been looking back at the ’80s in those ridiculous outfits.

And when I look back, I think you’re so beautiful.

You look very slim and beautiful.”

She reflected on her iconic 1986 wedding, a spectacle witnessed by the entire nation, acknowledging that it marked the onset of self-loathing within her.

However, her perception of her body underwent a profound transformation following her breast cancer diagnosis earlier this year, which necessitated a mastectomy.

Known affectionately as Fergie, Sarah Ferguson expressed a newfound sense of pride in her physical scars, viewing them as badges of honor.

Recalling her daughter Eugenie’s wedding attire, which showcased a prominent scoliosis scar, Sarah humorously remarked, “I remember Eugenie at the wedding.

She had a scoliosis scar on her back and she was wearing a V-neck wedding dress.

I thought you’re wearing the scar.”

With a touch of levity, she quipped about the potential controversy if she were to reveal her own scar sans clothing.

In a previous conversation with Metro, Sarah Ferguson acknowledged that her weight remained a sensitive issue, particularly before the release of her debut young adult novel.

She delved into her history of struggling with disordered eating, tracing its origins to childhood trauma stemming from her mother’s departure.

Speaking on a podcast alongside Ayurvedic doctor and naturist Dr. Vijay Murthy, she disclosed, “I ate a lot.

I never had bulimia because I wasn’t in the mental state to go that far, but I always wanted to.”

When probed about the origins of her distress, Sarah candidly shared, “My body and mind were there, but I couldn’t act out to make myself sick.”
