In a heartwarming revelation, King Charles has opened up about the profound joy that being a grandfather brings him, especially with the arrival of his first granddaughter, Princess Charlotte, in 2015.

During a visit to Poundberry, a model town development near Dorchester, the then Prince of Wales expressed his delight to reporters.

He beamed with pride, sharing, “I was hoping for a girl,” as he celebrated the birth of Charlotte.

Days after her birth, Charles couldn't hide his excitement.

“She is beautiful,” he said, reflecting on his hopes for a granddaughter who could look after him in his old age.
