Following the recent passing of Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 96, significant changes have been set in motion for the royal family.

These changes extend beyond personal and emotional aspects to encompass adjustments in titles and roles.

With King Charles III ascending to the throne, and Catherine, Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge, have been honored with the titles of Prince and Princess of Wales, respectively.

Additionally, has assumed the role of Queen Consort.

, one of the Queen's eight grandchildren, has also experienced a notable shift in her responsibilities following her grandmother's demise.

As the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, Princess Beatrice has been appointed as a councillor of state.

This new role signifies that she is among the select few individuals authorized to act on behalf of and stand in for King Charles III as required.

The duties of Princess Beatrice as a councillor of state entail participation in privy council meetings, the authorization of documents, and the reception of credentials from new ambassadors.

Prior to Queen Elizabeth II's passing, the four councillors of state included her two sons, Prince Charles and Prince Andrew, as well as Charles' two sons, and .

However, with Charles assuming the throne, a new councillor of state needed to be designated.

Traditionally, councillors of state would step in for the monarch in case of illness or absence abroad.

Princess Beatrice's appointment to this role is based on her position as the highest-ranking individual in the line of succession over the age of twenty-one.

Presently, Princess Beatrice holds the ninth position in the line of succession to the throne.

Despite not being in the line of succession, , Queen Consort, who has been married to King Charles for seventeen years, also possesses the capability to act on his behalf if required.

Recently, Princess Beatrice's husband, Italian Count Edomopeli Mozzi, shared an unseen photo of Queen Elizabeth II and , Duke of Edinburgh, along with a heartfelt message expressing their sorrow over the Queen's passing.

In a poignant Instagram post, Mozzi reflected on the remarkable legacy of Queen Elizabeth II, describing her as the cornerstone of modern Britain.

He expressed gratitude for the time their children spent with Her Majesty during the summer and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the royal family during this difficult period.

Furthermore, , the Queen's only daughter, is set to receive a new title.

The title of Princess Royal, typically bestowed upon the eldest daughter of the monarch, will remain with until her passing.

Unlike hereditary titles, , the second child of the Duke of Cornwall, will not automatically inherit the title upon Anne's death.

Princess Anne is currently accompanying her late mother's remains as they are transported from Balmoral to Edinburgh.
