Royal Dream Team: Kate and Princess Anne Unite to Champion Maternal Health Care

In a rare and momentous occasion, the Princess Royal and the Duchess of Cambridge are set to join forces for a joint engagement next Wednesday.

The dynamic duo will be visiting the headquarters of the Royal College of Midwives and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London to delve into their collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing maternal health care.

At 40 years old, Kate holds the esteemed position of Patron of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), while the ever-dedicated Anne, aged 71, serves as the Patron of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM).

Notably, both roles were previously occupied by the revered Queen Mother.

Their Royal Highnesses will be immersing themselves in understanding how these two prestigious organizations have come together to elevate maternal health care standards, ensuring expectant mothers receive the highest quality care possible.

One of the focal points of their engagement will involve exploring the innovative digital tools being developed by Tommy's National Centre for Maternity Improvement to identify and support individuals with high-risk pregnancies.

Furthermore, Anne and Kate will engage with key stakeholders from the Avoiding Brain Injury in Childbirth (ABC) collaboration to delve into the establishment of a national framework for monitoring and safeguarding fetal well-being during labor.

This initiative draws insights from clinical practitioners and the invaluable experiences of mothers to shape its approach.

A pivotal aspect of their visit will include a round-table discussion addressing the critical issue of reducing disparities in maternity care.

The Princess and the Duchess will also have the opportunity to interact with individuals who have been honored with an RCM award for their exceptional contributions to the field.

Culminating the day's events will be a poignant plaque unveiling ceremony to formally inaugurate the building.

and Kate have long been staunch advocates for nurses and midwives, with both royal figures lending their unwavering support to the Hush Nursing Now campaign.

The brainchild of the Duchess of Cambridge, the Nursing Now campaign was launched in 2018 as a global initiative spanning three years, aimed at amplifying the role of nurses worldwide.
