Royal Drama Unfolds: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Skip UK Christmas with Archie and Lilibet
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have set off on a festive escape to Costa Rica, leaving behind the traditional Christmas celebrations in the UK.
The couple, accompanied by their children Archie and Lilibet, opted for a tropical getaway, signaling their intention to spend the holiday season away from the Royal Family.
This departure marks a break from the norm, as Meghan and Harry have chosen to spend the last three Christmases in the United States.
Notably, this will be the first time their daughter Princess Lilibet experiences Christmas outside the UK.
Upon their arrival in Costa Rica on December 14, the couple was spotted strolling through lush greenery and cruising around in a golf buggy.
During their stay, Meghan and Harry immersed themselves in the serene surroundings of Playa Carrillo and explored the picturesque beaches of Guanacoste province, renowned for their pristine sands.
Their Costa Rican sojourn came to an end on December 20, as they boarded a flight back to the US, where they are anticipated to celebrate Christmas.
In a surprising turn of events, Prince Harry reached out to King Charles on his 75th birthday in November, hinting at a potential reconciliation with the Royal Family.
Meghan Markle also engaged in a heartfelt conversation with the King on his special day.
Despite these gestures, the release of Omid Scobie's revealing royal exposé “Endgame” in late November appears to have thwarted any hopes of a festive reunion between the Sussexes and senior royals.
Nonetheless, King Charles has decided to extend his Christmas invitation list at Sandringham to accommodate more family members.
Queen Camilla's offspring and grandchildren are now slated to join the Royal Family for part of the holiday period.
This adjustment in plans has reportedly stirred discontent among royal staff, who have been asked to relinquish their accommodations to make room for additional guests and relocate to smaller quarters.
