The Duke of Cambridge, , embarked on a week-long journey north of the border, following his scathing critique of the BBC for its mishandling of his late mother 's Panorama interview.

In newly released images, a somber and contemplative William kicked off his royal tour with a visit to a lower league football club in Edinburgh.

Engaging with players at Ainslie Park Stadium, home of Spartans F.C., the future king showcased his football prowess while conversing with grassroots players from Scotland's Mental Health Football and Well-Being League, alongside former Scotland striker Stephen Thompson.

This initiative, supported by the Scottish FA, aims to promote recovery and combat mental health stigma.

As the president of the Football Association, also participated in a video call with footballers from the UK's four national teams, including a chat with England star Harry Kane.

Subsequently, at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, William fulfilled his role as the Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland by partaking in the Quays ceremony.

Representing the Sovereign at the assembly, the Lord High Commissioner, appointed by the Queen on the Prime Minister's advice, serves as an observer during the proceedings.

During the ceremony, the Duke interacted with soldiers while inspecting the Guard of Honour and the band.

Thursday evening saw Prince William condemning the BBC following an inquiry that exposed the broadcaster's concealment of unethical practices employed by journalist Martin Bashir to secure his groundbreaking 1995 interview with .

Concurrently, , Duke of Sussex, who has distanced himself from royal obligations to start afresh in America with , launched a scathing critique against the royal family in his mental health documentary series with , titled “The Me You Can't See.”

Harry accused the royals of blatant neglect when his wife faced suicidal thoughts amidst relentless social media harassment.

Expressing his frustration, voiced that every plea and warning to address the situation was met with silence or disregard, emphasizing their relentless efforts to persevere in their royal roles.
