Royal Christmas: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis Set for a Unique Holiday Season
As the holiday season approaches, it seems that Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are gearing up for an extraordinary Christmas experience—potentially three celebrations in total.
However, according to royal expert Duncan Larcombe, their parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are committed to ensuring that their children enjoy a festive season without the trappings of excessive luxury.
Larcombe, who is the author of “Prince Harry, The Inside Story,” shared insights with OK Magazine about the royal family's holiday plans.
He speculates that the Cambridges will kick off the festivities with a cozy celebration at their home in Anmer Hall, Norfolk.
This intimate gathering will likely be followed by a more formal affair at Sandringham with the Queen, and finally, a family reunion with Kate's relatives, the Middletons.
Despite the prospect of multiple Christmas celebrations, Larcombe emphasizes that Kate and William are determined to maintain a sense of normalcy for their children.
“They certainly won't be lavishing them with expensive gifts,” he stated.
The couple is keen on preventing their kids from becoming spoiled, prioritizing meaningful experiences over material possessions.
The royal expert elaborated on how the family might establish their own traditions at Anmer Hall, creating cherished memories before heading to Sandringham for the traditional family gathering.
While the children might be allowed to unwrap a few gifts beforehand, Larcombe points out that the royal family is not known for extravagant gift-giving.
In fact, he noted that the atmosphere during family reunions is typically understated when it comes to presents.
“We've certainly never seen Range Rovers turning up at Sandringham piled high with presents,” he remarked.
With so many grandchildren in the family, practicality takes precedence, and each person usually gifts just one item.
Looking ahead, it seems that the Cambridges may also make a stop at Kate's parents' home in Berkshire to ring in the New Year.
Given that the Middletons missed celebrating Christmas with George, Charlotte, and Louis last year due to COVID-19 restrictions, they are likely to go all out this time around.
Additionally, while the Cambridge children may receive a plethora of gifts from well-wishers, it's important to note that royal protocol dictates what happens to these items.
Larcombe explained that Kate and William will ensure their kids are shielded from the overwhelming influx of gifts sent to the royal household.
This thoughtful approach by the Duke and Duchess reflects their desire to provide a grounded upbringing for their children, despite their royal status.
