Royal Author Sparks Controversy Over Sussexes’ Political Engagement

In a bold claim that has stirred the pot, royal author Lady Colin Campbell asserts she has received an avalanche of complaints—tens of thousands, to be precise—regarding and 's Archwell Foundation.

According to Campbell, the couple's foray into political activism raises eyebrows, as such activities are strictly prohibited for charities under U.S. law.

The Sussexes have been busy in Delaware, registering nearly a dozen companies since April 2020.

This state is known for its favorable tax conditions, which do not impose business transaction taxes or hefty personal taxes.

Among these filings, it appears that more than half of their newly established companies are aimed at the entertainment sector, which adds another layer of intrigue to their business endeavors.

Interestingly, two additional companies were registered on the same day, revealing a deeper connection to their previous ventures.

The Telegraph unearthed that the same legal and business team, who have long represented Meghan, facilitated the registration of these new entities.

This raises questions about the Sussexes' strategic planning and intentions behind these businesses.

Public records indicate that Meghan's attorney, Richard Jenneau, along with business manager Andrew Mayer, incorporated these companies in both Delaware and California.

Some names chosen for these ventures seem to carry sentimental significance for the couple.

For instance, Cloverdale Inc. is reminiscent of the street where Meghan spent her childhood in Los Angeles.

Alongside Cloverdale Inc., the couple also launched Riversold Productions Inc., both of which are clearly tailored for the entertainment industry.

This brings their total to seven companies explicitly focused on this sector, including others like Hampshire LLC and IPHW LLC.

Previously, they operated under Archwell Productions and Archwell Audio, collaborating with major platforms like Netflix and Spotify.

Their business portfolio is quite extensive, featuring two publishing companies and three investment firms.

Notably, they have connections to Pekka Publishing, which holds the rights to Meghan's book, “The Bench,” and Orinoco Publishing, likely the publisher of 's autobiography.

In March, Meghan made headlines by attending an event in Los Angeles to celebrate International Women's Day.

Dressed in high-end fashion from Max Mara and Valentino, she traveled a considerable distance from her Montecito home to support Harvest Home, a charity aiding homeless pregnant women.

Photographers captured her carrying an eye-catching Chanel handbag, valued at over $11,000.

Recent revelations from Archwell's IRS documents have brought financial transparency to the forefront.

These records, which became public earlier this month, shed light on the foundation's fiscal activities since its inception in late 2020.

In 2021, during a peak in their celebrity status, Archwell raised approximately $13 million, distributing around $3 million in grants to various charities.

However, a closer examination of the figures reveals a striking detail: most of the funds came from a select few benefactors.

The paperwork indicates that nearly $10 million—about 75% of their total revenue—originated from just one donor, with speculation swirling that might be behind this generous contribution in exchange for the Sussexes' tell-all interview.

Additionally, a $3 million donation possibly linked to Prince Harry himself has surfaced, suggesting he may have tapped into his reported $30 million advance for “Spare.”

Yet, perhaps the most telling statistic is the modest amount raised from the general public—just $4,470.

As the Sussexes continue to navigate their post-royal lives, the implications of their business ventures and charitable activities remain a topic of heated debate.
