Rob Lowe Criticizes Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for Changing Montecito Neighborhood
Rob Lowe, a resident of Montecito, California, expressed his frustration with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for bringing increased attention to his quiet neighborhood.
The 57-year-old actor shared his thoughts during an interview on the E!
News talk show Daily Pop, where he discussed the impact of the royal couple's presence in the area.
Lowe mentioned that despite Markle and Harry maintaining a low profile, their residency had significantly heightened interest in Montecito.
Reflecting on his 26 years of living in the neighborhood, he remarked, “Let me tell you something, once the Royals move into your neighborhood, the neighborhood is never going to be the same again.”
The actor revealed that the couple resided near his first home in Montecito and acknowledged the influence of high-profile residents like Oprah Winfrey in revitalizing the area.
Lowe noted the positive effect on property values but humorously remarked on the downside of longer lines at Starbucks due to the increased popularity of the neighborhood.
Reports emerged that Markle and Harry had stayed at Tyler Perry's mansion in Beverly Hills before purchasing their Montecito home in August.
Police visits to their property due to various incidents such as trespassing and alarm activations have drawn attention to their residence in Santa Barbara County.
Montecito has become a celebrity hotspot, with notable homeowners including Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jeff Bridges, and Ellen DeGeneres.
During an interview with Oprah, Markle and Harry clarified that the filming did not take place at their home, dispelling rumors that it was Rob Lowe's residence or that of Netflix's Ted Sarandos.
In a separate development, commentator Angela Levin accused Meghan Markle of bringing out Prince Harry's negative traits, stating that she had influenced him to display his “most evil side.”
Levin emphasized the importance of surrounding oneself with individuals who bring out the best rather than the worst qualities in a person, suggesting that Meghan had a detrimental impact on Harry.
The couple faced criticism for their nomination for the Robert F Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award, with presenter Mike Graham labeling the recognition as outrageous.
The backlash against Meghan and Harry continues to grow, with commentators expressing disapproval over their actions and public image.
