Queen’s £66.3 Million Necklace: Princess Catherine Dripping in Diamonds

Princess Catherine was seen positively dripping in diamonds as she adorned herself with the most expensive jewel from Her Majesty's collection, the Nizam of Hyderabad necklace.

Valued at an astonishing £66.3 million, experts at Jewelry Box confirmed its opulent worth.

The history behind this exquisite piece dates back to 1947 when the Nizam of Hyderabad presented it as a wedding gift to Princess Elizabeth, now II.

The generous Nizam allowed her to choose anything she desired from Cartier, and she selected the magnificent necklace along with a floral tiara that could be worn as brooches.

Even after decades, the Nizam of Hyderabad necklace continues to make appearances on members of the Royal Family, including Princess Catherine.

Charlotte White, the Head of Design at Europe's leading online diamond jeweller 77 Diamonds, shared insights with Express Company UK regarding Catherine's impeccable taste in jewellery.

She highlighted how Catherine's jewelry choices have garnered widespread admiration, with fans marveling at her selection of some of the world's most precious and rare jewels.

Among Catherine's favored jewels are natural diamonds, a preference that was notably evident during the Portrait Gala at London's National Portrait Gallery in 2014.

It was at this event that Catherine showcased the Nizam of Hyderabad necklace, leaving onlookers in awe of her elegance and the necklace's grandeur.

The detachable pendant section alone features 13 emerald-cut diamonds, adding to the allure of this magnificent creation.

The sheer value of the Nizam of Hyderabad necklace is staggering, with experts estimating that it would take an average Londoner 1,718 years of work to afford such a luxurious piece.

This iconic necklace has not only graced the necks of royals but has also been worn by the late Princess of Wales.

The Royal Collection boasts other exorbitantly priced items, such as the Cullinan 3 and 4 brooch valued at £50 million, the £25 million Williamson diamond brooch, and the £4 million Greville emerald Kokoshnik tiara donned by on her wedding day in 2018.

Standing out as the most valuable jewelry owned by any Royal Family, the Nizam of Hyderabad necklace commands attention with its jaw-dropping price tag of £66.3 million.

According to Jewellery Box, an average British individual would need to labor for approximately 2,000 years to afford this extravagant piece.
