A recent Ipsos Mori poll has revealed that II remains the most beloved member of the British royal family, especially as she marks an impressive 70 years on the throne.

The survey indicates that nearly half of those surveyed hold the Queen in high regard, showcasing her enduring appeal among the public.

Following closely behind her is the Duchess of Cambridge, who has captured the hearts of 34% of respondents.

In this annual popularity contest, the Duke of Cambridge also features prominently, with 31% of people expressing their fondness for him.

This trio—, Kate, and William—seems to embody the modern monarchy's charm and stability.

However, the poll also uncovers a more critical perspective on the monarchy, revealing that 22% of participants believe it would be better to abolish the institution altogether.

This sentiment reflects a notable shift in public opinion, with support for a republic rising by 7 percentage points since March 2018.

Gideon Skinner, head of political research at Ipsos Mori, acknowledged the royal family's recent challenges but pointed out that supporters still outnumber critics.

He emphasized that while the monarchy may have faced turbulence, it continues to enjoy a solid base of backing from the public.

As the nation prepares for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, her status as the most popular royal seems secure.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are also solidifying their positions in the public's favor.

Interestingly, the Duchess of Cornwall, , has climbed the ranks to become the eighth most-liked royal after the Queen expressed her desire for her to be known as Queen Consort when Charles ascends the throne.

Prince Charles finds himself in the sixth position with 14% approval, while sits at eighth with 9%.

In a heartfelt message commemorating her historic milestone, the Queen expressed hope that the public would extend the same support to Charles and Camilla that they have shown her throughout her reign.
