Queen Camilla Delights Students at Fielding Primary School with Poetry Together Initiative
Queen Camilla made a heartfelt return to her royal duties, marking a special occasion following a family reunion.
Stepping back into the limelight, Her Majesty embarked on a unique tour after spending quality time with her husband, King Charles, and other family members at the picturesque Balmoral Palace.
The royal engagement began when Queen Camilla graciously departed from Fielding Primary School in Ealing to lend her support to Poetry Together, an inspiring initiative spearheaded by her dear friend, Jill Brandet.
This collaborative program, established in 2019 in conjunction with Duke's Education and National Poetry Day, aims to bridge generational gaps by uniting elementary school children and seniors, including residents from nursing homes.
During her visit, Queen Camilla radiated warmth and joy as she distributed certificates to the participants and enjoyed a captivating concert.
To sweeten the occasion, Her Majesty surprised the students with a delectable cake personally baked at Buckingham Palace, adding a touch of regal charm to the event.
Notably, Queen Camilla also had the honor of inaugurating the school's new library, emphasizing her profound appreciation for literature.
A passionate advocate for reading, Her Majesty unveiled the Queen's Reading Room in 2021, a charitable endeavor dedicated to fostering a love for literature among individuals of all ages in the UK and beyond.
Expressing her deep-seated affection for books, Queen Camilla shared, “Reading was a great adventure for me—I loved it from a young age, and I hope others will enjoy it as much as I did.
You can run away, you can travel, you can laugh, you can cry.
Every emotion a person experiences is in a book.”
Following her engaging school visit, Queen Camilla's presence at Fielding Primary School marked a significant moment in her ongoing commitment to educational and literary initiatives.
This special occasion unfolded against the backdrop of her recent sojourn at Balmoral Castle, where she relished the final weeks of summer in the company of family members, including Princess Eugenie and her children Augusta and baby Ernest.
Accompanied by Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mosai, Queen Camilla and King Charles immersed themselves in the serene surroundings of the Highland Residence, a cherished retreat beloved by the late Queen Elizabeth II.
