Princess Kate’s Majestic Coronation Dress Unveiled

Fans of the British royal family were thrilled to finally get a glimpse of Princess Kate's stunning coronation dress in the newly released official photos of the working royals.

The bespoke silk crepe dress, created by Alexander McQueen for the coronation of III, was a sight to behold.

Kate, who holds the title of Princess of Wales, donned a floor-length dress adorned with intricate silver bullion and threadwork embroidery featuring national flower motifs like rose, thistle, daffodil, and shamrock around the hem.

In the official coronation portraits, the exquisite embroidery extended from the cuffs of the long sleeves to the shoulders and chest, with a neckline elegantly sweeping into a curved V shape.

However, eagle-eyed fans noticed a discrepancy between the gown seen in the ceremony photographs and the official portraits.

Some speculated that Kate might have worn two different dresses, citing differences in the neckline and embroidery placement.

Social media buzzed with theories about the possibility of a quick dress change for Kate to make it to the balcony in time for the public appearance.

Sky News correspondent Alastair Bruce, however, clarified that Kate wore the same dress for both the ceremony and the portraits.

The neckline discrepancy was explained by an additional temporary cape worn to complement the mantle and collar, preserving the dress from wire-woven fastening cords with heavy swag knots.

Kate's coronation gown, inspired by her black Alexander McQueen gown from the 2019 Diplomatic Corps reception, paid homage to the late II's style.

Drawing from the late Queen's coronation gown, Kate's dress featured national flower motifs and was designed by Alexander McQueen, who also created her iconic wedding dress.

To accessorize, Kate adorned herself with the George VI Festoon Necklace, previously owned by the Queen, a three-strand diamond necklace with a rich history dating back to 1950.

Adding a sentimental touch, Kate wore 's pearl and diamond earrings, along with a sparkling headpiece crafted by Jess Collet and Alexander McQueen.

Opting for a silver leaf headpiece instead of a traditional tiara, in line with and Queen 's wishes, Kate exuded elegance and grace throughout the ceremony.

Her ensemble was completed by a deep blue silk satin cloak, a royal Victorian order mantle, and her trusty Gianvito 105 white leather pumps.
