Princess Eugenie Celebrates Scoliosis Awareness with Stunning Wedding Throwback

In a heartfelt gesture, shared a breathtaking photo from her wedding day with Jack Brooksbank on social media this past Tuesday.

While the princess often uses her platform to highlight charitable causes, this post was a personal one, aimed at raising awareness for scoliosis, a condition she has lived with since childhood.

The date, June 26th, marks Scoliosis Day, and Eugenie's choice to reflect on her journey resonates deeply with many.

The image captures Eugenie in her exquisite ivory wedding gown, designed by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos.

The dress features a striking low V back, elegant folded shoulders, long sleeves, and a dramatic cathedral-length train.

It's a stunning look that not only showcases her style but also tells a powerful story.

Breaking away from royal tradition, Eugenie opted not to wear a veil during her wedding at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle back in October 2018.

This decision was deliberate; it allowed her to proudly display the scar on her back, a reminder of the corrective surgery she underwent for scoliosis at the age of 12.

In an interview prior to her wedding, she expressed how important it was to honor her medical journey and support others facing similar challenges.

Eugenie's surgery was no small feat.

She underwent an eight-hour operation where surgeons inserted titanium rods and screws into her spine.

Reflecting on her experience, she mentioned how grateful she is for the care she received, stating that without it, she might not be able to speak about scoliosis or help other children dealing with the same issue.

Her wedding dress was more than just a beautiful garment; it was imbued with meaning.

Eugenie incorporated four significant symbols into the design: a thistle representing Scotland, the white rose of York symbolizing her family, a shamrock honoring her mother Sarah Ferguson's heritage, and ivy, which represents the couple's home.

These elements blended seamlessly to create a modern yet meaningful piece.

To complement her gown, Eugenie wore the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik tiara, a stunning heirloom borrowed from her late grandmother, II.

This marked the first public appearance of the £10 million diamond and emerald tiara, adding another layer of significance to her wedding day look.

She paired the tiara with matching diamond and emerald drop earrings, a wedding gift from Jack.

As for the dress itself, Eugenie had teased its design in previous interviews, expressing her desire for something timeless rather than trendy.

She wanted to avoid styles that might quickly fall out of fashion, which led to her unique blend of silhouettes for the big day.

Eugenie and Jack's love story began during a ski holiday in Verbier in 2010.

After dating for eight years, Jack proposed during a romantic getaway in Nicaragua on New Year's Day in 2018.

The princess described the moment as overwhelming, sharing that she was “over the moon” and couldn't hold back her tears.

Recently, Eugenie has been making headlines for her fashionable appearances at events like Royal Ascot.

This year, she dazzled attendees with her pastel summer gown, known as the Mallory Dress, designed by Diane von Furstenberg.

The sleeveless gown featured a chic knot detail, perfectly accentuating her figure.

Completing her look, Eugenie sported a stylish beige hat by Emily London Headwear and paired her outfit with Aquazura bowtie pumps.

Her accessories included a cream Anya Hindmarch clutch and a large pale pink rose hairpiece, showcasing her flair for fashion and attention to detail.

Adding a sentimental touch to her ensemble, Eugenie wore her stunning diamond and emerald drop earrings, a cherished gift from Jack.

With each appearance, she continues to capture the essence of royal elegance while remaining true to her personal style and values.
