The event was supposed to be followed by a reception at the Royal Lodge.

The cancellation came after reports emerged that one of the attendees had tested positive for a virus, leading to concerns about the health and safety of the guests.

Among those expected to attend were proud grandparents and Sarah Ferguson, who were planning to host the after-party.

, Jack Brooksbank, and baby August were also eagerly awaiting the special occasion.

The news of the cancellation was a disappointment to many, especially as the Queen, Princess Eugenie's grandmother, was looking forward to attending the christening and celebrating with her great-grandson.

Pregnant and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mosi were also on the guest list, adding to the anticipation of the event.

According to sources, the decision to call off the christening and reception was made after one of the guests either tested positive for the virus or had come into contact with someone who did.

This unfortunate turn of events meant that it was no longer safe for the gathering to proceed as planned at the Royal Lodge, the residence of .

In preparation for the christening, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank had intended to have August wear a replica of a historic christening gown that dates back 160 years.

The original gown, made of Honiton lace, was commissioned by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert for their daughter Princess Victoria in 1841.

Over the years, members of the Royal Family, including the Queen and Prince Charles, have worn the gown for their own christenings.

August, who was born on February 9th at The Portland Hospital in London, holds the 12th position in the line of succession to the British throne.

Since his birth, Princess Eugenie has been sharing adorable photos of her son on social media, showcasing precious moments like his first Mother's Day celebration.

Despite the setback of the cancelled christening, Princess Eugenie remains excited about motherhood and cherishes the joy of raising baby August.

The turn of events may have been unexpected, but the love and care for their child continue to be the top priority for Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.
