Princess Charlotte to Inherit Prestigious Royal Title

, the daughter of and , is set to inherit a very special royal title once her father ascends to the throne.

Currently known as Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, the six-year-old already holds a grand title bestowed upon her by her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

However, her title is expected to become even more majestic when becomes king, as she is said to inherit the title of Princess Royal, according to the Mirror.

The title of Princess Royal is traditionally given to the eldest daughter of the monarch and was introduced in the 1600s to mirror the French royal title of Madame Royale.

The current holder of this title is , the only daughter of II, who was granted the title in 1987.

Royal expert Duncan Larcombe explained to TownandCountryMag.com that the title of Princess Royal is held for life, meaning Princess Charlotte will have to wait until the current Princess Royal passes away to assume the title.

In royal history, it is noted that even though II was the eldest daughter of King George VI before she became queen, she was not known as the Princess Royal.

This was because her aunt, Princess Mary, held the title at that time, leading Queen Elizabeth to be referred to as Princess Elizabeth.

Meanwhile, despite being a member of the royal family, Princess Charlotte goes by a different name, Charlotte Cambridge, while attending Thomas School in Battersea.

This naming convention follows the tradition where royals take their surnames from their father's titles, in this case, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Similarly, Princess Charlotte's older brother, Prince George, is known as George Cambridge at school, and when is old enough to attend, he will be referred to as Louis Cambridge.

This practice extends to their father, Prince William, and uncle, , who used the surname Wales during their school and military years due to their father's title as the Prince of Wales.

Furthermore, when Prince Charles eventually becomes king, Prince William is expected to inherit his father's title of the Prince of Wales.

Amidst royal family dynamics, there have been speculations about relationships within the family.

A source mentioned that Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, is eager for to be invited to a joint birthday party with Prince William.

The source highlighted Kate's desire for the brothers to mend their relationship, emphasizing the importance of celebrating together as a family.

Express.co.uk conducted a poll asking readers if they believed Harry and Meghan should be invited to William's birthday party.

The results showed that a vast majority, 89 percent of respondents, felt that Harry and Meghan should not be invited, while 10 percent were in favor of extending an invitation, and 1 percent remained undecided.
