Princess Catherine Shines in Glittering Dress at UK India Year of Culture Launch

Princess Catherine graced Buckingham Palace on 27th February 2017 alongside other members of the British Royal Family to kick off the UK India Year of Culture.

This initiative commemorates the profound cultural bond between the two nations and marks the 70th anniversary of India’s independence with a year-long series of events and exhibitions scheduled in both countries.

The event was a grand affair, blending the finest of British and Indian culture and creativity, with a distinguished guest list comprising luminaries from various fields such as performing arts, fashion, food, literature, and sports.

Notable attendees included Kunal Nayyar, Neha Kapoor, Ayesha Dhaka, Kapil Dev, Rio Ferdinand, Anoushka Shankar, and Jo Wright.

A highlight of the reception was a captivating display from the Royal Collection, showcasing artifacts from previous royal visits to India, along with exquisite Indian gifts and manuscripts from the Royal Library.

For the occasion, Princess Catherine made a stunning sartorial choice, opting for a dazzling dress designed by Erdem.

The Rona metallic floral lace dress, characterized by its pleated metallic lace fabric, round neck, semi-sheer sleeves, button cuffs, and belted waist, exuded elegance and sophistication.

Complementing her ensemble were a pair of new, radiant shoes from Oscar de la Renta.

The Platinum Lame Cabrinha Pumps, featuring a glistening Platinum Lame fabric, 100mm heel, pointed toe, scallop sides, and raised back, added a touch of glamour to Princess Catherine’s attire.

The Palace officially confirmed that Princess Catherine adorned herself with a fresh pair of earrings crafted by Indian designer Anita Dongra.

This choice harkens back to her previous fashion statement when she wore a modified version of one of Dongra’s dresses during her visit to India in 2016.
