Princess Anne Named Hardest Working Royal of 2022
The Princess Royal has been recognized as the hardest working member of the Royal Family for the year 2022, having participated in a total of 214 engagements.
Despite her outstanding dedication, Princess Anne had to remain at home on Christmas morning due to health reasons.
Notably, she was noticeably absent from the traditional Christmas church service at Sandingram, where the Royal Family gathered on Sunday, as reported by Hello magazine.
The Princess Royal's absence was attributed to a cold that she was battling at the time.
While Princess Anne was unable to attend the Christmas service, other members of the Royal Family congregated at Sandingram for their first Christmas without Queen Elizabeth, who passed away at the age of 96 in September.
Anne's children, Tsar Tyndall and Peter Phillips, along with their respective families, partook in the morning walk to St. Mary Magdalene Church near Sandingram.
Tsar, aged 41, was accompanied by her husband, Mike Tyndall, and their daughters Mia, 8, and Lena, 4.
On the other hand, Peter, 45, walked alongside his daughters Savannah, 11, and Isla, 10, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Autumn Kelly.
Notably, the absence of Anne meant that she missed the Royal Family's customary stroll, which was the first in three years due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Despite missing the Christmas service, Princess Anne's dedication throughout the year has been remarkable.
She topped the list of Royal Family members in terms of engagements attended in 2022, surpassing even her brother, King Charles, who came in second with a total of 181 engagements.
Prince William ranked fifth on the list, having participated in 126 events, while Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, secured the ninth spot with 90 engagements.
Moreover, aside from her official engagements, Anne also undertook personal responsibilities, such as accompanying her mother's coffin from Scotland back to the UK following Queen Elizabeth's passing at Balmoral Castle on September 8.
Princess Anne made history by being the sole female member of the Royal Family to partake in the funeral procession for the Queen.
She further distinguished herself by becoming the first female participant in the Vigil of the Princess, a poignant moment where all four of the late monarch's children stood vigil at their mother's coffin at St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh.
Subsequently, King Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward repeated the ritual during the period when the Queen lay in state at Westminster Hall.
Reflecting on these developments, one might wonder if Princess Anne's absence has affected the Royal Family dynamics, particularly given King Charles's perceived reliance on her.
