Prince William Treats Family to Cornish Pasties During Isles of Scilly Visit

During his recent tour of the Isles of Scilly, Prince William made a delightful pit stop that showcased his affection for local delicacies.

On Friday, he indulged in five traditional Cornish pasties, presumably to bring home a taste of the South West for his family.

The Duke of Cornwall, as he is known in the region, arrived at St Mary's Harbour after a scenic boat ride from Tresco, one of the smaller islands.

As he stepped off the Pegasus, a boat adorned with the Duke of Cornwall flag, a small crowd gathered to welcome him.

The atmosphere was lively, with onlookers cheering as he disembarked for the final day of his visit.

Sporting stylish sunglasses to shield his eyes from the bright Cornish sun, William donned a brown blazer, navy chinos, and matching brogues, looking every bit the part of a relaxed royal.

The Prince was in high spirits, having already enjoyed a refreshing swim earlier in the day.

He expressed his delight at the glorious weather, remarking how beautiful the islands were under such splendid sunshine.

His cheerful demeanor was infectious, as he strolled along the picturesque water's edge.

William made his way to the On the Quay café, where he decided to treat himself and his family to the iconic pasties.

At £5.50 each, he was served by Jolie Dearman and Zachariah Fox, seasonal workers from North Devon.

Curious about what was popular among customers that morning, he asked the duo, “What's selling quickest?” Upon learning that the pasties were the hot item, he couldn't resist their tempting aroma, exclaiming, “They smell delicious!

Makes your mouth water.”

As he chatted with the café staff, he shared a light-hearted moment with tourists who had gathered to catch a glimpse of the royal visitor.

With a laugh, he mentioned how much his family missed him during this trip.

“My family are very upset I'm here without them,” he said, adding, “The children will kill me if I don't go home later.” His playful tone reflected a genuine connection to his family life.

Later in the day, the Prince visited St Mary's Community Hospital, where he met with staff to discuss an exciting new health initiative.

Plans are underway for a new integrated health and social care facility, which will be constructed on land owned by the Duchy of Cornwall.

This project aims to enhance healthcare services for the local community, a cause that resonates deeply with William.

To mark the occasion, he was presented with a spade and participated in a ceremonial groundbreaking.
