Prince William Makes Solo Appearance in Singapore for Earthshot Prize Awards

has landed in Singapore for a busy four-day schedule dedicated to the Earthshot Prize Awards.

The highlight of the event is scheduled for Tuesday, with a lineup of prominent personalities expected to join the future monarch.

This year marks the third edition of the Earthshot Prize Awards within William's decade-long initiative.

Notably, last year's ceremony was held in Boston, where he was accompanied by the Princess of Wales.

However, this time around, William is flying solo as it was previously announced that the Princess of Wales would be staying back in the UK.

Upon his arrival, initiated a symbolic gesture by turning the world's largest indoor waterfall green to mark the launch of his £50 million environmental Earthshot Prize in Singapore.

The Rain Vortex, standing at 130 feet and cascading down seven stories amidst a terraced forest setting within a terminal at Changi Airport, was illuminated in green as soon as he made his appearance before cheering fans, following his flight from London aboard British Airways.

Following his arrival in Singapore, Prince William took to social media to share his excitement about being in the country.

In a tweet signed off with a ‘W', he expressed, “Hello Singapore.

It's fantastic to be back in Singapore for this year's Earthshot Prize ceremony, after 11 years.

Singapore's bold vision to be a leader in environmental innovation sets the benchmark for others to emulate.

I am thankful to the Singaporean people for hosting us this week.

Let's draw inspiration from the remarkable work being carried out here as we applaud this year's Earthshot Prize finalists.

In addition to overseeing the care of their three children – Prince George, aged 10, , aged 8, and , aged 5 – Princess Kate opted to remain in Windsor for a heartfelt reason.

Kensington Palace officially confirmed that Kate would not be accompanying Prince William to the Southeast Asian nation due to her commitment to supporting Prince George during his school examinations.

The couple has made it clear to the royal family that their children take precedence over their official duties and are their top priority.
