Prince William and Princess Catherine Extend Birthday Wishes to King Charles
Prince William and Princess Catherine, known as the Prince and Princess of Wales, have taken to Twitter to publicly wish King Charles a happy 74th birthday.
Through their official Twitter account, the royal couple expressed their warm wishes to His Majesty the King on his special day.
Accompanying their message was a delightful picture of the monarch, capturing him with a wide smile during one of his engagements.
The heartfelt birthday message from the Prince and Princess of Wales comes shortly after the royal family's official Twitter account also acknowledged King Charles' first birthday as the Sovereign of the Country.
The tweet conveyed well wishes to His Majesty the King on his birthday, which falls two months after his accession to the throne.
As King Charles' reign is still in its early stages, Buckingham Palace has not yet disclosed whether the monarch will continue the tradition initiated by King George III in the mid-1700s of celebrating his birthday with public festivities on a summer day.
The late Queen, whose birthday fell in April, adhered to this practice, observing her official birthday in mid-June with the Trooping the Colour ceremony and the announcement of birthday honours.
Although King Charles led the nation during the Remembrance Sunday commemorations, he is anticipated to spend his birthday privately with Queen Camilla.
However, the King's special day will be marked publicly with various military performances.
At 11 am, during the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, the Household Cavalry band will perform a rendition of Happy Birthday in honor of Charles.
Following this, the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery will fire 41 volleys in London's Green Park, with the Scots Guards band also performing Happy Birthday.
Lastly, at 1 pm, the Honourable Artillery Company will fire a 62-gun salute at the Tower of London.
Over the weekend preceding his birthday, Catherine and Prince William were seen alongside King Charles on two occasions.
On Saturday, they attended the Royal British Legion's Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall, where a moving tribute was paid to the late Queen, who held the record as the longest-serving British head of the armed forces.
The following day, the trio participated in the National Service of Remembrance, joining other senior members of the royal family in the solemn event.
