Prince Philip Faces Double Heartache Amid Hospital Stay
Prince Philip is currently facing a double heartache as it has been disclosed that he is grieving a personal loss while simultaneously battling an infection during his hospitalization.
The distressing news emerged that on the very day Prince Philip was admitted to King Edward VII's hospital in London, his close friend and former royal page passed away.
Renowned royal commentator and expert Robert Jobson revealed that the Duke of Edinburgh experienced the sorrow of losing his loyal royal page and friend on the day he was hospitalized nearly a fortnight ago.
Jobson expressed on True Royalty TV that the Duke is likely to be profoundly affected by this loss as his royal page was a constant presence in his daily life.
He remarked, “The other day when Prince Philip went into hospital, his royal page, who was with him for many years, died on the day the Duke went in.
That is sad news for the Duke as well.”
According to Jobson, losing someone who was part of his daily routine, especially someone younger than himself, adds to the Duke's emotional burden.
He highlighted that many of Prince Philip's friends and staff have passed away over the years, making the loss of his royal page particularly poignant.
Additionally, royal commentator Dickie Arbiter noted that Prince Philip eagerly anticipates being discharged from the hospital and returning home.
Arbiter mentioned, “Prince Philip doesn't want to be in hospital and my guess is he will come out fairly soon.
He doesn't like a fuss, he has never done, and the sooner he gets home the better for him.”
Queen Elizabeth's 99-year-old husband was initially hospitalized on the 16th of February as a precautionary measure after feeling unwell.
Following a 14-day stay, he was moved to a prominent hospital across London due to concerns regarding a pre-existing heart condition.
Buckingham Palace released a statement on Monday morning confirming the transfer, stating, “The Duke of Edinburgh is today transferred from King Edward VII Hospital to St Bartholomew's Hospital where doctors will continue to treat him for an infection as well as undertake testing and observation for a pre-existing heart condition.”
Despite responding well to treatment and being comfortable, Prince Philip is expected to remain in the hospital until at least the end of the week.
Speculation arose about Prince Philip's transfer when images surfaced of a patient being transported from the hospital via ambulance, shielded by umbrellas to maintain anonymity.
