Prince Harry and Meghan’s New Website Raises Eyebrows Amid Royal Struggles
In a move that has ignited controversy, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have launched their new website, Sussex.com, a decision some royal experts are calling spiteful.
This development comes at a particularly sensitive time for King Charles, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer.
The timing of the website's launch has raised questions and sparked criticism from various quarters.
The couple unveiled Sussex.com on Monday evening, marking a shift from their previous site, Archewel.com.
This rebranding effort seems aimed at positioning themselves for future endeavors while keeping their brand alive.
The new site serves as a central hub for their activities, featuring links to both the Archewel Foundation and Archewel Productions.
Interestingly, it also connects back to their earlier website, Sussex Royal, which they had to abandon after stepping back from royal duties in 2020.
Royal commentator Angela Levin did not hold back in her assessment of the situation.
She described the website launch as occurring at “the most horrific timing,” suggesting it would add unnecessary pressure on the royal family.
With King Charles battling health issues and Princess Kate recovering from recent surgery, Levin believes this move is particularly ill-timed.
Levin pointed out that the Sussexes have a history of making controversial decisions during critical moments for the royal family.
She recalled their high-profile interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired while Prince Philip was gravely ill.
This pattern, she argues, suggests a deliberate attempt to undermine the monarchy.
The stakes are high, especially for King Charles and Prince William, who are already facing the challenges of leading the royal family during turbulent times.
Levin emphasized that Harry is well aware of the expectations surrounding his royal titles.
In fact, the late Queen had made it clear that he should not exploit his titles for commercial purposes.
Yet, many see this new venture as a direct contradiction to that principle.
In defense of their actions, sources close to the Sussexes have argued that the use of “Sussex” in their title is entirely justified.
They maintain that Prince Harry and Meghan are indeed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and thus have every right to use their family name as part of their brand.
