Prince George’s Gaming Passion: A Royal Family Affair
Prince George, the young heir to the British throne, shares a hobby that many children can easily identify with—video gaming.
His parents, Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales, are keenly aware of his interest and are taking steps to manage it.
The 10-year-old prince's love for gaming has become a topic of conversation, especially as his parents strive to balance screen time with other activities.
During a visit to BAFTA headquarters in London last year, Prince William opened up about his son's fascination with video games.
He mentioned that while all three of their children enjoy various forms of entertainment, George stands out as the most enthusiastic gamer.
“They really like the games; they fascinate them,” William explained, adding that his youngest siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are still a bit too young to fully engage in gaming but enjoy movies.
William's candid remarks shed light on how the royal family navigates modern parenting challenges.
He emphasized the importance of regulating screen time, a concern that resonates with many parents today.
“You must be careful,” he advised, highlighting the need for mindfulness when it comes to children and their digital interactions.
The Prince of Wales also expressed his own affinity for video games and films, revealing that he enjoys sharing this passion with his children.
In a playful moment during the BAFTA visit, he was seen holding a game controller, which further illustrated his involvement in this shared family interest.
“I try to get the next generation excited,” he said, demonstrating his commitment to engaging with his kids in their hobbies.
Interestingly, during this visit, William had the chance to play a game called Net Carbon, created by Harry Petch, a talented game designer and BAFTA Young Game Designer finalist.
