Pearl: Meghan and Harry’s Latest Ventures
Meghan and Harry are currently immersed in their respective projects.
While Harry is working on a documentary that will track the journey of competitors gearing up for next year's Invictus Games in The Hague, Meghan is busy creating an animated series named Pearl.
This series has garnered significant attention, both positive and negative, as it follows the adventures of a 12-year-old girl named Pearl who engages in heroic feats and converses with remarkable women from history.
Assisting Meghan in bringing this project to life is David Furnish, the husband of Sir Elton John.
A filmmaker himself, Mr. Furnish has played a pivotal role in the creation of Pearl and serves as an executive producer, praising Meghan's collaborative spirit.
The bond between Meghan, Harry, and Sir Elton runs deep, with the couple being close friends of the music legend.
They have previously been whisked away to his lavish French Riviera estate via a private jet.
Sir Elton, who shared a special connection with Harry's late mother, Princess Diana, recently appeared on Later with Jules Holland to discuss his new album, Lockdown Sessions.
The album features collaborations with artists such as Duleepa, Charlie Puth, and Stevie Wonder.
Despite his close ties with Meghan and Harry, Sir Elton expressed surprise at their decision to step back from royal duties and embark on a new chapter in North America.
Following the announcement of Meghan and Harry's departure in January 2020, a spokesperson revealed that Sir Elton learned about their plans through their Instagram post.
The news came as a shock to him, as he has been a pillar of support for the couple.
When Meghan and Harry faced backlash for using a private jet to visit Sir Elton's £15 million home overlooking the Promenade des Anglais, he swiftly defended them.
Despite the environmental concerns surrounding private jet travel, Sir Elton clarified that he provided his own jet to ensure their safety and had offset the carbon emissions from their trip.
Criticism recently surfaced regarding Meghan and Harry's endorsement of the New York-based investment firm Ethic.
Documents filed in the U.S. revealed that Ethic had invested approximately £1.1 million in Corteva Inc., a chemical company linked to a pesticide lawsuit in California.
Although Corteva maintains the safety of its products, Ethic's investments in contentious industries have raised eyebrows.
Additionally, preparations are underway for an upcoming event commemorating Her Majesty's 70-year reign, set to surpass the grandeur of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
The focal point of the event will be a four-day bank holiday, allowing the public to partake in the festivities and enjoy a reprieve from work.
Scheduled from June 2 to 5, 2022, the extended holiday period will include official bank holidays on Thursday, June 2, and Friday, June 3.
These dates will replace the traditional spring bank holiday, typically observed on the final Monday in May.
While Saturday and Sunday will not be designated holidays, a plethora of events are planned to mark the significance of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
