**Parliament Considers Stripping Harry and Meghan of Royal Titles**

Sources close to Palace have revealed that Parliament is contemplating a significant move to strip Harry and Meghan of their royal titles through new legislation set to be introduced this week.

Conservative MP Bob Selley is spearheading a bill that could potentially revoke the couple’s Duke and Duchess status as the royal family finds itself embroiled in a controversy fueled by their unofficial spokesperson.

Selley aims to implement laws reminiscent of those enacted during the First World War, which were used to strip enemy German nobles of their British titles.

If passed, the bill would prompt the Commons to deliberate on the possibility of reclassifying Harry and Meghan simply as Mr. and Mrs. Sussex, amid escalating pressure on the couple to address contentious allegations made by author Omid Skopje.

Expressing his motivation for the proposed legislation, Selley emphasized the detrimental impact of using race as a weapon to tarnish the reputation of the royal family, branding it as insidiously poisonous.

The MP, a member of the Commons Foreign Affairs Committee, highlighted the damaging nature of discrimination, labeling it as a particularly pernicious insult that leaves behind a lingering stigma and is challenging to disprove if baseless, likening it to a modern-day racial slur.

Selley has taken steps to have his Titles Deprivation 1917 amendment bill included in the Common Order paper for the upcoming week, seeking to revive wartime powers by removing references to adversaries and ongoing conflicts.

He has collaborated with Parliament’s table office to finalize the wording of the bill, emphasizing his support for the monarchy while advocating for a decisive response from Parliament and the Privy Council in light of recent developments.

In a column penned for the Mail on Sunday, Selley articulated his stance on the matter, asserting that individuals who choose to relinquish their royal status should not retain associated titles and privileges if they undermine an institution integral to the nation’s heritage.

While sources close to the Sussexes have disavowed any connection to the claims in Skopje’s book, doubts linger regarding the veracity of such disclaimers, prompting calls for a reevaluation of the couple’s royal designations.

The proposed action to strip Harry and Meghan of their titles is deemed necessary due to the gravity of the accusations leveled against them in recent publications.

Selley underscored the importance of holding individuals accountable for their actions, particularly when they veer into controversial territory that could tarnish the reputation of the royal family and its members.

By advocating for the removal of the couple’s royal titles, Parliament seeks to alleviate the burden on the monarchy and uphold the sentiments of the public.

The move signifies a departure from traditional political neutrality on royal matters, reflecting the growing disapproval of the discriminatory claims circulating within the media.

Security Minister Tom Tugendhat commended the dignified conduct of the King and the Princess of Wales amidst the unfolding controversy, dismissing the claims as mere hearsay and unfounded speculation.

The unprecedented nature of the proposed legislation underscores the gravity of the situation, signaling a shift in the dynamics surrounding the royal family and its continued relevance in contemporary society.
