Meghan Markle’s Podcast Criticized and Mocked by TV Personalities
During a recent segment on The Today Show, host Karl Stefanovic couldn't help but mock Meghan Markle's reaction to a fire incident that occurred in her son's nursery back in 2020.
The incident took place during the final tour before the Sussexes stepped down from their royal duties.
Stefanovic struggled to contain his laughter as he listened to Meghan recount the story, questioning the absence of the baby during the fire.
According to co-host Alison Langdon, the baby was not present in the nursery when the fire broke out as the nanny had already taken the baby out of the room.
Stefanovic, still amused by the situation, pointed out the irony that since the baby wasn't there, Meghan would face difficulties attending a function.
This led to an exasperated “Oh my god” from Stefanovic.
Langdon tried to offer some empathy towards Meghan, highlighting that she was a new mother in a foreign country and might have found the incident frightening.
However, Stefanovic dismissed this gesture, suggesting that the sympathy being shown was fake and not genuine.
He even went on to comment that Meghan should toughen up instead of seeking pity.
This isn't the first time Stefanovic has poked fun at Meghan, as he previously criticized her for exaggerating her daughter's teething problems.
On this occasion, Langdon once again reprimanded Stefanovic for his insensitivity, indicating that the story seemed implausible, hence Stefanovic's amusement.
The discussion then shifted towards Meghan's podcast, likened to The Oprah Interview Part 2, which has received mixed reviews.
Royal expert Daniela Elsa criticized Meghan's attempt to break free from traditional gender roles, stating that the podcast fell short of its intended impact.
Elsa described Meghan's narrative as repetitive and unconvincing, with the podcast being perceived as yet another attack on the royal family from a distance.
Critics have not held back in their assessment of Meghan's podcast, with some labeling it as dull and disconnected from reality.
Major publications like The Times and The Telegraph have been scathing in their reviews, with one critic suggesting that the podcast may end up being a platform for Meghan to talk to herself week after week.
The podcast was recently discussed on The Talk, where panelists including Talk Radio host Mike Graham and former GMTV presenter Penny Smith expressed their dismay at the content.
James Max and Dr. David Bull appeared visibly shocked by a clip from the podcast, with Max branding it as drivel and tone-deaf.
Esther Crack, another panelist, echoed these sentiments, labeling the podcast as cringe-worthy and expressing disbelief at its content.
As the debate continued, Graham highlighted the stark contrast between the trivial topics discussed on the podcast and the pressing issues faced by society.
Max chimed in, criticizing the tone-deaf nature of Meghan's podcast, especially given the current challenges confronting society.
The panelists unanimously agreed that Meghan's podcast missed the mark and failed to resonate with audiences seeking more substantial content.
In light of the ongoing criticism and lackluster reception, Meghan Markle's foray into podcasting seems to have stirred more controversy than acclaim.
As public figures and media personalities continue to dissect and scrutinize her every move, the future of Meghan's podcast remains uncertain amidst mounting skepticism and disapproval.
