**Meghan Markle’s Ambitious Bid for Windsor Suite Rattles Royal Circles**
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has stirred up controversy once again by reportedly requesting a Windsor suite to rival that of Princess Kate.
The former actress is said to have made bold demands for accommodations of similar stature to those enjoyed by other members of the British royal family.
Arriving in the UK in November 2017 following Prince Harry's proposal at Nottingham Cottage, Meghan Markle quickly found herself immersed in the world of royalty.
However, in a recent Netflix docuseries, she revealed her disappointment at the modesty of their first home, expressing her desire for a more regal abode.
Royal expert Kinsey Schofield disclosed that Meghan had approached the palace seeking a more spacious residence post her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018.
In an interview with GB News, Schofield detailed how Meghan had inquired about securing suites within Windsor Castle, hoping to reside in close proximity to the Queen herself.
Despite her aspirations, Meghan's request was met with a firm refusal, citing concerns over privacy and security.
Schofield highlighted the disparity between Meghan's desires and the practicalities involved, emphasizing that her ambitions seemed to mirror those of the Duchess of Cambridge.
At the time, Prince William and Kate Middleton resided in Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace, a lavish four-floor residence gifted to them by Queen Elizabeth II in 2011.
In contrast, Harry and Meghan's initial dwelling, Nottingham Cottage, was notably smaller, prompting the couple to invest £2.4 million in renovations to make it more suitable for their needs.
Reflecting on their humble beginnings, Harry and Meghan shared insights into their early days together, with Harry humorously remarking, “For people, we were living in a palace.
We were in a hut.”
Meghan echoed his sentiments, highlighting the stark contrast between the grandeur of Kensington Palace and the coziness of Nottingham Cottage.
The financial burden of the renovations initially fell on taxpayers through the Sovereign Grant before being fully settled by Prince Harry.
Despite the couple's efforts to create a comfortable living space, Meghan's quest for a Windsor suite serves as a reminder of the complexities and expectations that come with life in the royal spotlight.
