Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Security Measures Raise Eyebrows
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have recently been the center of attention due to the revelation by a doctor concerning Harry's mental health, accusing Meghan of exploiting him for financial gain and fame.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been on the move across the UK and Germany, accompanied by an extensive security entourage that includes a private doctor and a full medical kit, as reported by Mirror UK.
Their return to the UK was marked by a visit to the German city of Dusseldorf on Tuesday, September 6th, following a public appearance in the UK on Monday, September 5th.
Reports indicate that Harry and Meghan are not only surrounded by a tight security ring during their travels but also have a private doctor and medical equipment as part of their entourage.
According to a police source cited in the Mail Online, roadblocks were set up in Dusseldorf while the royal couple met with potential participants for the Invictus Games and initiated the one-year countdown to the 2023 Games.
In a separate development, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry faced mixed reactions from residents of Manchester following their recent visit to the city.
The couple attended the One Young World Summit in the UK's second-largest city, where they engaged with local Britons who shared their perspectives with Express.co.uk.
The summit, which aims to unite young global leaders for social change and leadership development, has attracted over 2,000 participants from 202 countries, aged between 18 and 30, during its run from September 5 to September 8.
Meghan Markle, an ambassador for the organization, delivered a keynote speech on gender inequality at the event held in Bridgewater Hall.
Alongside the Duchess, notable figures like Sir Bob Geldof and award-winning writer Lem Cisse also addressed attendees during the opening ceremony.
Manchester residents, including Michelle from Didsbury, expressed indifference towards Harry and Meghan's speeches, suggesting that the couple could utilize their platform to address more pressing national issues such as the cost of living crisis.
Criticism arose over the event's ticket pricing, which reportedly exceeded £1,000 per day, potentially excluding individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Trainee solicitor Ben Goldsborough voiced concerns about the exclusivity of such high prices, emphasizing the impact on socioeconomic diversity among attendees.
Conversely, architect Eva Black viewed the ticket costs positively if proceeds were directed towards charity, although she acknowledged the limitation in perspectives due to financial barriers.
Despite differing opinions on the ticket pricing, 30% of young attendees reportedly received scholarships to participate in the summit.
Meghan's speech emphasized the importance of collective action in driving positive global change, receiving a warm reception from the audience of 2,000 individuals.
However, the Duke and Duchess faced some dissent from protesters outside the venue, with one demonstrator holding a sign labeling them as “FAKE ROYALS” in bold letters.
