**King Charles Drives Queen Camilla in £80,000 Electric Audi**
King Charles, known for his passion for classic cars, made a sustainable statement over the weekend as he chauffeured Queen Camilla in his new electric Audi Q8.
The royal couple was seen arriving at a service near Balmoral in Crathia, Kirk, in the sleek Audi Q8 e-tron S-Line 55.
This marked a departure from King Charles' usual choice of the Aston Martin DB6 Volante, a 60-year-old classic that now runs on bioethanol sourced from Swindon vineyards.
Renowned for his affinity towards high-performance vehicles, King Charles has been a stalwart supporter of Aston Martin's petrol engines in the past.
However, in a bid to reduce his carbon footprint, His Majesty has recently shifted his focus towards eco-friendly models.
According to reports from the Daily Mail, the £80,000 Audi Q8 e-tron S-Line 55 Quattro boasts a range of 333 miles on a single charge and can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.6 seconds.
With a fast charger reaching speeds of up to 170 kW, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in a mere 31 minutes.
Despite his modern choice of electric vehicles, King Charles has not completely abandoned his beloved Aston Martin DD6.
Originally gifted to him by his parents on his 21st birthday, the classic car has been retrofitted to run on bioethanol derived from English wine remnants, specifically sourced from Wiltshire vineyards.
Notably, the Aston Martin consumes approximately 4.5 bottles of wine per mile, despite being driven only around 300 miles annually.
A staunch advocate for environmental conservation and sustainability, King Charles has long been involved in various initiatives promoting organic farming and combating climate change.
His commitment to adopting eco-friendly transportation options is evident through his ownership of multiple electric vehicles.
Prior to the Audi Q8, the King had purchased a Jaguar I-Pace in 2018 and briefly utilized a Tesla in 2021.
In a departure from their usual royal engagements, King Charles and Queen Camilla were captured enjoying a leisurely ride in classic cars during their visit to Cuba in March 2019.
The couple exuded elegance as they sat in a vintage 1954 MGT convertible, showcasing their appreciation for timeless automotive design.
This outing further exemplified the royal couple's affinity for both tradition and innovation in their choice of transportation.
