Kim Kardashian’s Crime Podcast Tops Spotify Charts, Pushing Meghan Markle Down to 4th Place
Kim Kardashian's latest venture into the podcast world with “The System: The Case of Kevin Keith” has quickly risen to the top of Spotify's podcast rankings.
The series delves into the compelling case of an Ohio man who was initially sentenced to death for a triple murder, only to have his sentence commuted to life without parole by former governor Ted Strickland in 2010.
Despite having released just two episodes since its launch on October 3rd, Kim's massive social media following, boasting 331 million Instagram followers, has propelled her podcast to surpass longtime favorite “The Joe Rogan Experience” for the number one spot.
In contrast, Meghan Markle's podcast, “Archetypes,” which debuted at number one upon its first episode release last month, has now slipped to the fourth position on the charts.
Fans of Markle had high hopes that she would dominate the podcast scene and even surpass the Kardashians within three years, but it seems that her success has not met those expectations.
Markle's recent episode of “Archetypes” explored the portrayal of the East Asian temptress in movies, depicting her as both alluring and dangerous.
However, the episode faced criticism from Glasgow comedian Leo Kurz, who labeled Markle as an overly woke, race-baiting individual focused on self-promotion.
Kurz particularly took issue with Markle's critique of Asian stereotypes in films such as “Kill Bill” and “Austin Powers,” sarcastically remarking that he had mistakenly believed these movies to be documentaries.
He expressed disbelief at the notion that anyone would take these portrayals as accurate reflections of reality.
Kurz further mocked Markle's tendency to find fault in various aspects of popular culture, suggesting that she might soon complain about other movies perpetuating unrealistic ideas, such as “Lethal Weapon,” “Paddington Bear,” and “Top Gun.”
Adding to the chorus of critics, Piers Morgan also weighed in on Meghan Markle's recent statements, highlighting her self-identification as a princess despite not holding the official royal title.
While Meghan referred to herself as a princess on her podcast and expressed concern about the impact of meeting young girls who view her as a real-life princess, Morgan vehemently rejected this characterization.
He emphasized that Meghan, despite marrying into the royal family, cannot claim the title of princess as she was not born into royalty.
Morgan further criticized Meghan and Harry for leveraging their royal connections for financial gain, questioning whether there should be limits on how they exploit their titles for personal enrichment.
Speculating on a potential intervention by future King Charles to curtail their use of royal titles for profit, Morgan raised concerns about the couple's commercial activities and their perceived detachment from their royal responsibilities.
