Kate Shines Bright in Green at the Royal Variety Performance
Last night, the Royal Albert Hall was aglow with glamour as the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, graced the stage in a stunning green gown.
The occasion was the much-anticipated Royal Variety Performance, and Kate certainly made a statement.
Her floor-length, sequined dress turned heads and drew compliments from all corners, including comedian Alan Carr, who humorously assured Prince William that he wasn't trying to woo his wife.
As Carr greeted the royal couple, he couldn't help but express his admiration for Kate's exquisite outfit.
“You look absolutely beautiful,” he remarked, before turning to William with a playful disclaimer, “Sir, I am sure you do not know who I am, but I am not hitting on your wife.” It was a light-hearted moment that showcased the warmth of the evening.
Kate's look was elevated by her fresh hairstyle, featuring elegant curls pinned to one side, perfectly complementing her ensemble.
This particular dress was a recycled custom creation by Jenny Packham, first donned during an official visit to Pakistan back in 2019.
By re-wearing this beautiful piece, Kate not only dazzled but also embraced sustainable fashion.
To complete her eye-catching appearance, the Duchess opted for matching stilettos, a chic menordia bag, and gold earrings designed by Miss Soma London.
Meanwhile, Prince William matched her elegance in a stylish velvet blue tuxedo, paired with a crisp white shirt, black trousers, and a classic black bow tie.
Together, they were a picture of sophistication.
The Royal Variety Performance marked a significant return to live entertainment, especially after last year's event was held at the Blackpool Opera House without a physical audience.
This year, the atmosphere was electric, with a full house of 5,000 attendees, a testament to the resilience of the entertainment industry.
During the event, the royal couple mingled with some of the biggest names in music, including Ed Sheeran, James Blunt, and Sir Rod Stewart.
They also enjoyed a mesmerizing performance by Cirque du Soleil, adding to the excitement of the night.
In a touching moment, Kate received a beautiful posy from 10-year-old Poppy Clee, while young Rowan Clarke, also 10, presented William with a program and cheekily asked him about his taste in music.
These interactions highlighted the family-friendly spirit of the evening.
This year's fundraiser is particularly special, as it commemorates a century of royal patronage.
