Invictus Games 2023: Canadians Petition for Removal of Harry and Meghan from Board

The closing ceremony of Invictus 2023 has recently wrapped up, but the aftermath is far from over.

Change.org is currently flooded with petitions from Canadians demanding the immediate removal of Harry and Meghan from the Board of Directors of Invictus Games.

The call for their ousting has gained significant traction, prompting petitions to be sent directly to the Board of Directors.

In response to this surge of petitions, noticeable changes have been made to the operational structure of the organization.

Notable alterations can be seen on both the official homepage and Wikipedia page of Invictus Games.

One striking change is the disappearance of Harry's name from the leadership roles, with another prominent figure stepping into his place.

The newly appointed chairman of Invictus Games is Charles Allen, Baron Allen of Kensington, a distinguished British businessman and broadcaster.

Baron Allen brings a wealth of experience, having chaired the 2002 Commonwealth Games and played key roles in the London 2012 Olympic bid team and the London Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

He also served as the mayor of the Olympic Village at one point.

Previously, held the title of president on the organization's website.

However, it is important to note that the role of president is often ceremonial, while the chairman typically plays a more active role in the organization's operations.

Recent events have shed light on a shift in 's involvement with Invictus Games, raising questions about his priorities and dedication to the mission.

During the closing ceremony, Harry announced Vancouver as the host city for Invictus Games 2025.

Yet, concerns have arisen regarding Harry and Meghan's track record in supporting Indigenous communities and addressing historical injustices.

Critics argue that their motives may lean more towards personal gain than genuine advocacy.

Moreover, there is discontent among some Canadians regarding the perceived lack of acknowledgment or gratitude from Harry and Meghan towards Canadian taxpayers who covered their security costs during their previous stay in the country.

This sentiment has fueled resentment and raised doubts about the couple's intentions.

Some Canadians fear that Harry and Meghan may exploit sensitive issues, such as recent discoveries of unmarked graves, for personal gain.

Similar concerns were raised when they were accused of exploiting veterans for a Netflix documentary.

The prevailing sentiment is that such critical matters should not be used for personal benefit.

In addition to these concerns, Meghan's presence at the Invictus Games in 2022 and 2023 has drawn criticism.

Attendees expressed disappointment in her attire, deeming it inappropriate and unkempt.

Reports even mentioned unpleasant odors accompanying her, causing discomfort to those around her.

These factors have contributed to the growing disapproval of Meghan's involvement.

The decision to replace Prince Harry with Kensington Baron Allen as the chairman of Invictus Games comes after a turbulent period marked by Canadian petitions and doubts about the organization's focus and leadership direction.

The changes reflect a shifting landscape within the organization, as it navigates through challenges and strives to maintain its mission and integrity amidst public scrutiny.
