Hollywood Laughs As Meghan Markle Becomes the b-tt of Jokes on Saturday Night Live
Meghan Markle found herself at the center of a comedic storm on Saturday Night Live, as the NBC comedy show took a humorous jab at the Duchess of Sussex in a skit that playfully targeted Prince William and Princess Kate's Christmas card.
The Waleses caused quite a stir recently with the release of their charming Christmas card, where they were pictured alongside their children – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5 – all donning matching outfits and beaming with joy in a black-and-white snapshot.
During the skit, SNL cast member Colin Jost cleverly pointed out a quirky detail in the Christmas card, which he cleverly incorporated into a joke about Meghan Markle.
He humorously mentioned that in the Royal Family's Christmas photo, there seemed to be a questionable Photoshop blunder where Prince Louis' finger appeared to be missing, prompting laughter from the audience.
Adding a touch of wit, Jost quipped that Meghan Markle generously offered her own finger as a replacement if needed, as a pixelated image of Meghan seemingly making a cheeky gesture was displayed alongside the Wales' Christmas card.
This isn't the first time that Meghan Markle has been on the receiving end of comedic jabs.
Earlier in March, Team Sussex found themselves in a whirlwind after SNL playfully mocked Meghan's presence at the coronation.
Comedian Michael Che took a light-hearted dig at the Duchess as he cracked a joke about the rumors swirling around Meghan and Prince Harry attending King Charles' coronation.
In a humorous tone, Che mentioned that reports suggested Meghan had been extended an invitation to the coronation, with a starting wage of £15 per hour, while a comical image of her in a maid's outfit flashed on screen.
The teasing didn't stop there, as South Park and Family Guy also joined in on poking fun at the Sussexes for various reasons.
South Park parodied the couple's supposed desire for privacy on the global stage, while Family Guy took a swipe at Meghan and Harry's lucrative deal with Netflix, insinuating that their influence was one of the few avenues left for them to earn money following their transition from senior working royals at the beginning of 2020.
The world of comedy seems to have found a rich vein of material in the lives of the British Royal Family, with Meghan Markle often finding herself as the focal point of jests and satire.
