In the midst of this backlash, Piers Morgan also weighed in, launching a scathing critique of the couple during an episode of his talk show.

He hosted a panel discussion featuring broadcaster Jenny Kleeman and BBC News' international editor, Jeremy Bowen.

Jenny suggested that Meghan may not have fully grasped the implications of marrying into the royal family, but Piers sharply disagreed.

“I think she understood completely what she was doing,” Piers asserted, expressing his belief that Meghan is leveraging her royal connections for personal gain.
