Harry’s Memoir Sparks Mockery and Criticism in the US

Prince Harry's extensive media campaign to promote his memoir, Spare, has unexpectedly led to him becoming the subject of ridicule in the United States.

Following the release of the royal's 400-page book on January 10th, accompanied by a series of television interviews to boost its visibility, he has become the target of jokes from American late-night talk show hosts.

Despite being acknowledged in the book's Acknowledgements section for his support, close friend James Corden did not hold back from teasing the prince during an episode of the Late Late Show.

Corden seized upon the story shared by Harry in the book about losing his virginity at 17 in a field behind a pub to an older woman.

The prince had downplayed the anecdote during a British promotional interview, stating it was merely four lines and not worth elaborating on.

Corden humorously remarked on this, quipping, “Only four lines?

That's okay.

It happens to a lot of guys the first time.

In a field behind a pub, he continued?

That's one of those things that's worse than the sum of its parts.

You lose your virginity in a field or in a pub, alright?

Not great either way, but in a field behind a pub, that's terrible.”

The dynamics between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry and their former allies in the US have taken a sharp turn, as individuals who once supported them are now openly criticizing them.

A royal commentator highlighted this shift following the release of Harry's revealing memoir.

Royal reporter Cara Kennedy pointed out the noticeable absence of the couple from Oprah Winfrey's recent birthday celebration, suggesting that the couple might be losing favor in Hollywood circles.

Kennedy remarked, “It seems that Mr. and Mrs. Markle's previous supporters are now using their own words against them, following a pattern of similar incidents over the past few years.”

Harry and Meghan have consistently flaunted their connections to high-profile individuals as they transitioned from being royals to celebrities.

In his memoir, the Duke dedicated a portion to expressing gratitude to friends like James Corden and Chris Martin while notably omitting any mention of Oprah Winfrey, a move that did not go unnoticed.
