Eurovision Surprise: Princess Kate and Andrew Lloyd Webber Make Cameos
Eurovision viewers were taken aback on Saturday as the Princess of Wales and Andrew Lloyd Webber both appeared in the opening sequence of the finals.
Kate, in a heartfelt gesture to Ukraine, showcased her piano skills in a spectacular opening for the grand final at Liverpool’s Mandesbank Arena.
Virtually joining from Windsor Castle in a pre-recorded segment, her participation on the BBC show had been shrouded in secrecy.
Adorned in a stunning one-shouldered blue Jenny Packham gown mirroring the Ukrainian flag, Kate mesmerized as she played the piano during her brief 10-second cameo.
In a delightful twist, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber also graced the opening sequence with his piano performance, flashing a smile at the camera in a previously recorded clip.
Demonstrating their musical prowess akin to the previous year’s Ukrainian winners, The Kalash Orchestra, the duo captivated an estimated global audience of 160 million.
The opening number set the stage for a night of music and celebration.
