**Duchess of Cambridge Speaks at Addiction Charity Event in London**
Catherine made her way to the BAFTA headquarters in central London earlier today to address an event organized by addiction charity The Forward Trust, where she assumed the role of patron back in June.
Stepping out for this significant occasion, Kate opted for a vibrant red pleated midi skirt paired with a matching snug turtleneck.
Completing her ensemble with n-de pointe-toe pumps and a chic £295 microhandbag from D’Amelia, she exuded elegance.
Notably, she wasn’t the sole familiar face in attendance as popular TV personalities Ant and December graced the event, accompanied by their respective wives, Anne-Marie and Ali Astall.
During the event, Kate attentively listened to Ant as he recounted his personal battle with addiction and the importance of seeking help.
Together with other collaborators, The Forward Trust officially launched the Taking Action on Addiction campaign today, a comprehensive initiative aimed at enhancing awareness and comprehension of addiction issues within British society.
The campaign also seeks to address the prevalence of addiction, encouraging more individuals to seek and access the necessary support.
The Forward Trust, a longstanding organization dedicated to assisting individuals in breaking free from the cycle of addiction and forging a brighter future, has been operational since 1991.
While the Duchess of Cambridge commenced her involvement with the charity earlier this year, she has been actively engaged in understanding addiction-related matters and supporting similar causes for several years.
Previously functioning as an independent entity, Taking Action on Addiction was under Kate’s patronage from 2012 until May this year when it formally merged with The Forward Trust, continuing its mission to provide addiction support services.
At the star-studded affair, Kate interacted with some of the beneficiaries of the charity, listening to their poignant addiction narratives.
Her participation coincides with Addiction Awareness Week, slated from 18th to 24th October, emphasizing the critical need for dialogue and action surrounding addiction issues.
Delivering a keynote address during the launch, Kate underscored the urgency of dispelling misconceptions and fostering empathy towards those grappling with addiction.
She emphasized, “I am delighted to be here with you all to kick off the Take Action on Addiction campaign.
I am grateful to those who have openly shared their addiction experiences with me today.”
