**Duchess of Cambridge Pays Tribute with Queen’s Jewels at Duke of Edinburgh’s Funeral**
The Duchess of Cambridge exuded elegance and grace as she honored Her Majesty at the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral today.
Kate Middleton paid a heartfelt tribute to both the Queen and her late mother-in-law by donning the Queen's pearl choker, a piece from Her Majesty's personal collection, during the poignant service in Windsor this afternoon.
Kate Middleton wore the Japanese pearl choker necklace, previously worn by her for the Queen and Prince Philip's 70th wedding anniversary dinner at Windsor Castle in 2017.
This necklace also holds significance as it was worn by her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, back in 1982.
The Queen lent this exquisite piece to Diana, who had a fondness for pearls, for a banquet hosted by Queen Beatrix and Prince Claus of the Netherlands at Hampton Court Palace during the Dutch royal family's visit to the UK.
This iconic 40 Japanese pearl choker was specially crafted from some of the finest cultured pearls gifted by the Japanese government.
Adorned with four strands of pearls and a central curved diamond clasp, the choker was a favorite of the Queen in the 1980s and 1990s.
Notable appearances include a dinner celebrating former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's 70th birthday in London in 1995.
Paired with a sophisticated black Roland Mourat dress featuring an asymmetrical neckline, which she also wore for the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance in 2018, Kate accessorized with a black face covering and a Philip Treacy velvet pillbox hat.
Completing her ensemble were the Bahrain Pearl Diamond Drop earrings, also part of Her Majesty's private collection and previously worn by Diana in 1982.
These earrings were created from pearls gifted to the Queen and Philip by the ruler of Bahrain at the time of their wedding in 1947.
Following the announcement of Prince Philip's passing last week, the mother of three has maintained a low profile.
However, the official Kensington Royal Instagram account paid tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh by sharing a photo of him with Prince George.
Today marked the first major royal funeral attended by the Duchess, who has actively participated in various royal events over the years.
Kate Middleton shared a close bond with Prince Philip, with Prince William expressing gratitude for the years Kate had to get to know his grandfather after marrying into the royal family in 2011.
Described as a man who enriched the lives of all those he encountered with his kindness, humor, and humanity, Prince Philip's presence was deeply felt during the poignant event attended by the Queen, his children, and grandchildren.
