Catherine Dazzles in Icy Blue Gown at Royal Tea Party

In a stunning display of elegance, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, turned heads as she attended a Diamond Jubilee Party alongside at the British High Commissioner's residence in Kuala Lumpur.

The royal couple's visit was marked by a series of engagements, but it was the afternoon tea that truly showcased Kate's fashion prowess.

After a bustling morning filled with activities, Kate transformed into an exquisite gown designed by Alice Temperley for this special occasion.

The event was particularly memorable due to a contest held by the Malaysian High Commissioner, which allowed two lucky winners to meet the royals.

Among them was Ashikin, who triumphed in the Ultimate Royal Tea Competition for those under 18.

The party drew a host of distinguished guests, including renowned Malaysian-Chinese designer Jimmy Choo.

Known for his iconic footwear, Choo has seen Kate sport his designs on multiple occasions, such as the Vamp sandals and Amy pumps.

When asked about the possibility of creating a piece for the Duchess, he expressed his admiration, stating, “Why wouldn't I?

She is the style icon of her generation.”

For the tea party, Kate wore a bespoke version of the Temporally London's Astro Flower dress from their Autumn/Winter 2012 collection.

This particular dress featured an intricate lace embroidery finish, a boat neckline, and three-quarter sleeves, culminating in a flattering flared skirt.

The custom adaptation showcased a lighter color palette, perfect for the warm climate of Malaysia, with a cool white lace overlay atop an icy blue sheath.

Her hairstyle was equally captivating, with Kate opting for an elegant chignon adorned with delicate pearl pins.

To complement her outfit, she chose aquamarine and diamond earrings that sparkled beautifully, adding a touch of sophistication to her look.

Following the tea party, the Duke and Duchess continued their Malaysian tour with a visit to the As-Siakirian Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the country.

Situated in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, this modern architectural marvel can accommodate up to 12,000 worshippers.

Demonstrating respect for local customs, both royals removed their shoes before entering, with Kate adorning her head with a scarf and choosing not to wear nail polish on her toenails.

During this visit, Kate donned a pale blue Sabi tree dress by Bila London, a brand co-founded by her friend Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs.

The dress, described as original and feminine, is crafted from silk and designed to transition seamlessly from day to evening.

The ethical fashion label is committed to raising awareness about human trafficking and providing sustainable livelihoods for those affected.

Kate's choice of accessories for the mosque visit included n-de pieces from LK Bennett, further enhancing her chic appearance.

Her hair remained elegantly styled in a chignon, maintaining the sophisticated vibe she exuded throughout the day.

The mystery surrounding Kate's earrings added an intriguing element to her ensemble.

Featuring blue stones set in diamonds with a teardrop design, they are believed to be crafted from white gold.

This unique piece first made its debut during her current tour, leaving fashion enthusiasts eager to learn more about its origins.

As the royal couple continues their engagements in Malaysia, their blend of cultural respect and fashionable choices has captivated many, showcasing not just their royal duties but also their commitment to building connections with the communities they visit.
