Catherine and William’s Family Retreat: A Journey Back to Anglesey

Catherine, Princess of Wales, recently expressed her excitement about revisiting a cherished location from her past—Anglesey.

This picturesque estate holds special memories for her and , especially as they prepare to celebrate their 12th wedding anniversary in April.

Over the years, the royal couple has moved around quite a bit, but Anglesey remains close to their hearts.

Last summer, the family made a significant change by leaving the hustle and bustle of city life behind.

They relocated from Kensington Palace to the more serene Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, where their three children—Prince George, , and —now attend school at Lambrook.

Despite this move, their London residence continues to serve as their official working base.

During a recent event with the Welsh Guards, Catherine shared her longing to revisit Anglesey with her children.

She reminisced about the beautiful beaches and the memories created there when they were newlyweds.

Crystal Cunningham, who attended the parade, echoed this sentiment, hoping to introduce her own children to the stunning coastline that captivated the young couple years ago.

William and Kate welcomed their first child, George, while living in Anglesey back in 2013.

They rented a charming farmhouse on the Borgen estate, which cost them around £750 per month.

The property was known for its breathtaking views of New Brough Forest and access to private beaches.

While William fondly described Anglesey as an immensely special place, Catherine admitted to feeling a bit isolated during their time there.

Their journey in Anglesey began when William was stationed there for Royal Air Force training.

Kate joined him shortly after, leaving her job at her family's business.

William often spoke about how important Anglesey was to them, stating, “This island has been our first home together, and it will always be an immensely special place for both of us.”

Despite the beauty of their cottage, Catherine faced challenges after giving birth, feeling somewhat cut off from the world.

In 2015, when William took on a full-time role as a pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance, the family transitioned to Norfolk, where they settled into Amner Hall, a home that has become a beloved retreat for them.

The couple invested heavily in their new country abode, refurbishing it with £1.5 million in upgrades before moving in.

Their children began formal education in Norfolk, starting at the nearby Montessori nursery in 2016.

This move marked another chapter in their family's life, one that has been filled with changes and adaptations.

As rumors circulate about potential moves involving other royals, many are speculating whether William and Kate might also be considering a change in residence.

After their move to Adelaide Cottage in September, they left behind their Kensington Palace apartment, opting for a quieter life in Great Windsor Park Estate.

The couple reportedly purchased their new home for £4.7 million after selling their previous property, where Kate spent her childhood.

Their social media accounts have offered glimpses of their new life, especially during the pandemic when they spent more time at home.

Every Boxing Day, the family joins the Middletons, while Christmas is celebrated with the broader royal family at Sandringham.

As they continue to settle into their new surroundings, it's clear that the countryside offers a peaceful alternative to their previous lifestyle.

With the recent renovations at the Middleton family home transforming it into a luxurious mansion, the royal children have plenty of space to play, including gardens, a swimming pool, and even a tennis court.

While the family's latest move has brought them closer to nature, it seems unlikely that this will be their forever home, given its size and the absence of live-in staff.

As they navigate their roles within the royal family, William and Catherine remain committed to creating lasting memories for their children, with Anglesey always holding a special place in their hearts.
