Can Someone Check on Meghan and Harry?
Miss Owens recently took to Twitter to humorously suggest that someone should check on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
She pointed out that it had been three days since Prince Harry last offered another exclusive interview about his strained relationship with the royal family, prompting her to question their well-being.
This is not the first time Miss Owens has criticized the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
In a previous tweet, she posed a rhetorical question about how many more Hollywood-style interviews Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would give before achieving the privacy they claim to desire so fervently.
In her latest tweet, Miss Owens seemed to be alluding to the series of interviews and public appearances made by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Since stepping back as full-time members of the royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan have spoken publicly about various aspects of their post-royal life, including their struggles with mental health and their relationships within the royal family.
While they have not expressed hatred towards their royal relatives in the UK, they have candidly discussed challenges they faced within the palace and their difficult relationships with key royals.
Throughout 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan made a few public appearances, either through op-eds or virtual events.
However, it was only after their official exit from royal duties, known as Megxit, that they began opening up about their personal struggles in autumn.
Meghan first addressed the issue of online trolling and criticism during an episode of the Teenager Therapy podcast in October 2020.
The couple's rift with the royal family was further exposed during their revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey, where they accused the institution of neglect and racism.
During the Oprah interview, Prince Harry spoke about feeling trapped within the royal family and shared his feelings of disappointment towards his father, Prince Charles, and his brother, Prince William.
Meghan also clarified a previous incident involving Kate Middleton, stating that it was actually Kate who had made her cry before their wedding, not the other way around as previously reported.
Both Harry and Meghan spoke positively about Queen Elizabeth II, emphasizing their good relationship and understanding with Her Majesty.
Following the Oprah interview, Prince Harry participated in the Armchair Expert podcast, focusing on mental health and his military career.
He compared his life within the royal family to a mix between the Truman Show and living in a zoo, criticizing Prince Charles' parenting for perpetuating a cycle of pain.
In another TV series called The Me You Can't See, co-created by Harry and Oprah, the Duke opened up about his struggles with grief after losing his mother, Princess Diana.
He also accused the royal family of neglecting his pleas for help, leading to a sense of isolation and desperation.
Prince Harry highlighted the importance of breaking the cycle of suffering in families and ensuring a better future for his children.
He shared his experiences with therapy, including practicing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to address his trauma.
The Duke's revelations shed light on the internal struggles faced by him and Meghan within the royal family, ultimately culminating in their decision to step back and prioritize their mental health and well-being.
