A Royal Farewell: Inside the Emotional Send-Off of Her Majesty

Megan is seething with anger at this very moment.

Catherine and have joined forces to oust the betrayer.

Despite their red-rimmed eyes, the royal ladies-in-mourning projected unwavering determination through their demeanor.

Welcome back to the and the Queen news channel on YouTube.

The Countess of Wessex's face, marked by red-rimmed eyes and quivering lips, spoke volumes.

Sophie appeared apprehensive as she glanced through the open door, seemingly unable to fathom that this marked the beginning of the end upon hearing a sharp turn from outside.

The sight of four royal women awaiting Her Majesty's coffin at the grand entrance of Westminster Hall evoked memories of the three queens who gathered in 1952 to mourn King George VI – II, the Queen Mother, and Queen Mary.

Their minds were solely fixed on yesterday's events.

Our new queen consort visibly struggled to contain her emotions, gazing ahead stoically with her arms stiffly by her sides, striving to maintain her composure.

Adorned with a dazzling diamond-stick insect brooch, she exuded grace amidst the sorrowful setting.

Standing beside her was the Princess of Wales, her fatigue evident, adorned with the queen's diamond and pearl-leaf brooch.

While waiting, Kate exchanged occasional words with Sophie, but for the most part, she kept her hands clasped, gazing intently into the distance.

Interestingly, a noticeable divide existed between Sophie and Meghan, while the three working royals stood united.

As one of the ten privileged journalists granted access to witness the poignant moment when the royal family bid farewell to their beloved matriarch, the non-verbal cues of the women resonated deeply with all present, including myself.

Positioned just above in the ancient 900-year-old building, the Duchess of Hypocrisy appeared somewhat self-conscious.

Despite her appropriate attire and elegant appearance, the focus was not on fashion.

Leaning back while clutching her program and bag, she wore pearl earrings gifted by the queen during her wedding.

Even to an unaware observer, there was a palpable awkwardness in her posture, underscoring the evident rift between her and the rest of the royal family.

Meghan, holding a pair of black leather gloves, seemed unsure of herself, occasionally resting her hand in her pocket.

Traveling in a car with a countess from Buckingham Palace, she found herself drawn closer to her husband's aunts, the queen consort and Kate, the two most senior women in the royal family.

Seated next to the queen was her cousin, the frail Duke of Kent, bravely donning a full military uniform despite his advanced age.

The service, lasting twenty minutes, felt intimate and personal, almost as though intruding on a private moment of mourning.

The entrance of the queen's casket into Westminster Hall was accompanied by the choir of His Majesty's Chapel Royal, St. James Palace.

Adorned with a royal standard, the imperial state crown, and a wreath of white roses, dahlias, and pine from the Balmoral and Windsor Gardens, the coffin was placed on a regal catafalque in the center of the room.

The Countess of Wessex appeared utterly bereft as the coffin passed by, while remained fixated on it.

The Archbishop of Canterbury led the service, emphasizing the queen's devotion to her Christian faith and family, with the family standing vigilantly by the coffin throughout.

Following the service, the women made respectful gestures towards the coffin, while the men bowed their heads.

Notably, Harry and Meghan were among the first to depart, holding hands as a sign of unity.

As they left, the king, preparing himself for the challenges ahead, briefly raised his eyes skyward with a heavy sigh.

A small group of loyal courtiers and servants trailed behind the family, including her dresser, Angela Kelly, who had been a constant presence until the end.

In her 2012 speech commemorating her diamond jubilee, the queen expressed her commitment to serving the nation with the unwavering support of her family.

Westminster Hall, now a symbol of the nation's tribute to its esteemed monarch, serves as a poignant reminder of our history and the values that have shaped our nation.
