The Easter plans for the Royal Family also came into focus, with Prince William and Kate Middleton set to attend the Easter Sunday service at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.

However, it was noted that Queen Elizabeth II would not be present, marking the first time in five decades that she has missed the Easter Sunday service.

The last instance was in 1970 when she was on a tour of New Zealand and Australia.

Due to mobility issues in recent months, the 95-year-old monarch now resides at Windsor Castle.
